One of the most profound statements Jesus ever made is found in Luke 12:15: "A man's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions." Those words have shaped the way I think about life and success.

Over the years, I've come to realise that the less consumed we are with ourselves, the more available we become to bless others. We don't need to have everything before we can make a difference. Often, what seems like a small sacrifice on our part can become a life-changing opportunity for someone else.

Sometime in 2003, I sensed God asking me a question that has stayed with me ever since: "Do you want more fame for yourself, or will you use the influence you already have to make a difference?"

That question changed the course of my life. It led to the birth of Worship for Change, now known as the Concert for Change Foundation. Rather than pursuing recognition for its own sake, I wanted whatever platform God had given me to become a platform for hope—particularly for orphaned children and children living with disabilities.

Years later, another burden began to grow in my heart. I saw countless children in underserved communities with enormous potential but very limited opportunities. I became convinced that sometimes all a child needs is a little encouragement, a little exposure and someone who believes in them. That conviction gave birth to the Power of a Thousand Foundation.

Both foundations exist because I believe a simple truth: our lives are measured not by what we accumulate, but by the difference we make in the lives of others.
