This Life

Our faith in Christ OVERCOMES. Our faith does not EXEMPT us from all of life’s challenges. The reason why I’m putting this out there is because we have quite a number of propagated narratives like NO MORE TROUBLES, NO MORE DELAYS, NO MORE AFFLICTIONS etc

I understand they want to propagate hope. But that’s unsustainable hope. It’s a hope that the God of your life can’t even guarantee.

Here’s what Christ guarantees; in this life you’d have challenges, but be of good cheer, He has overcome the world. I’m not looking for trouble but I’ve also come to know that the graph of life isn’t straight. The end is predictable but the journey isn’t always. There’s process and there’s the promise. They both start with the letter P but they don’t mean the same thing.

There’s self inflicted pain. That can be resolved with God’s mercy - the mercy that rejoices against judgement. But even the person who’s forthright and righteous attracts a certain kind of trouble. Ask Daniel, David, Stephen, Jesus and Jacob And here’s what JESUS says: Matthew 5:10 NIV
[10] Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Life happens to all of us. When it does, may you be strengthened with might in your inner man during the process. May you be surrounded with people who will support. May you overcome and may you not allow the pain to go to waste. May you use the comfort you receive during that process to comfort others. Because my friend, you won’t be the last to go through that challenge.
